The Co-operative Funeralcare
UX Lead, Wireframes and Documentation, Flow diagrams, Sketches, Information Architecture, Prototyping.
I was the lead UX Designer on this long term project for The Co-operative Funeralcare. The Co-operative were keen to move their Funeralcare business forward embracing digital, and updating their long serving and largely paper-based systems.
The first stage of this process was to update their website, in their new corporate style, and bringing functionality the would enable them to compete with their competitors.
We worked to improve the Information Architecture of the site, improving findability of content, and improving information across the site for people who are at a difficult time in their lives.
Key information is present throughout the site, such as phone numbers, and help, along with more clear calls to action.
The second stage was to introduce a new e-Commerce element to the site, selling Funeral Plans. Funeral Plans enable people to pay for their funeral in advance, so that loved ones do not have the financial burden when the time comes.
This was a challenging project, with a lot of passionate stake holders, and many trips to Manchester, we worked with other 3rd party suppliers such as IBM, to help give The Co-operative the experience they wanted to provide to their customers.
Lastly we worked on creating a My Account area, for people to handle the arrangements of a funeral, from ordering flowers, to proofing of invitations and thank you cards and finding information about ordering coffins.
The site has very recently gone live.
